Elf (10 FP)

Creations of the Gods in their image, Elves exist halfway between mortality and divinity.

Height: N/A

Weight: N/A

Environment: Dreamwilds

Population: Majority

Speed: 10 ft.

Unarmed Dice: 1d2

#feybullshit (6 FP): As two actions, an Elf can put a glamour on anything within 10 ft. per Smart Ass. To do this, they make a Glamour Check (1d12 + Smart Ass). This changes the target into anything else that they wish, similarly to how their personal glamour functions.

Any creature interacting with such a glamour, including looking at it, can try to make a Bullshit Check (1d12 + Smart Ass). If the Bullshit Check equals or exceeds the Glamour Check, that creature sees and otherwise reacts to the glamour as if it wasn’t there. The Game Master should give the Elf bonuses or penalties to their Glamour Checks based on the plausibility of the glamour.

If an object is put under a glamour, that object becomes the new thing for all mechanical purposes. This does let them create dangerous or magical objects, but the Game Master may reduce the Glamour Checks result, making it easy to overcome.

For any creature that has overcome a glamour, the creature functions as if the glamour doesn’t exist. This could mean that a feather under a glamour to make it a dagger could stab a creature to death if it failed against the glamour, but would just be a harmless feather to a creature that succeeded.

Eldritch Justice (2 FP): As creatures crafted from the subjective substance of the Dreamwilds, Elves have the innate ability to weave between the lines that separate the real from the conceptual, coaxing one into the other. They can use bargains, offers and even otherwise meaningless turns of phrase to exchange things that would normally be impossible to deal in.

For example, they might bargain with another creature for ten years of that creature’s life, gaining those ten years to their own life despite otherwise having no way to take parts of another creature’s lifespan. This is an ability that can be guided, but not controlled. Although they may intend a certain outcome, reality may find another more appropriate. The effects of this ability are at Game Master discretion.

Unseen Nightmare (2 FP): Fully matured Elves lack any kind of physical form that could be called such in any recognizable reality. However, they can pretend to have one in order to interact like something that fits in anywhere.

As an action, they can form a glamour, taking on the appearance of any creature.

A glamour is not an illusion, nor is it truly real. Instead, glamour is the effect of convincing the world that one thing is something other than what it is. This means that it is real, but not really.

They take on the form, Height and Weight of anything they change into, but does not gain any Features or other mechanical changes. They can independently use the #feybullshit Feature to apply mechanical changes to themselves, but are subject to the limitations of the Feature.

Elven Maturation (0 FP): Unlike creatures native to the Mortal Realm, Elves do not grow based on their age. Instead, they mature based on their personal power and development.

After hatching, an Elf has 10 FP and possesses a true form that resembles a male humanoid. At this stage, they possess their clan’s base Features. As they gain FP, they physically mature.

Once they have a total of 12 FP they reach adulthood and are capable of siring offspring. Although they can use Unseen Nightmare to take on any form, their true form is male and they cannot bear offspring without other effects altering them.

Once they have a total of 24 FP, their true form becomes female and they gain the ability to bear offspring. They loose the ability to sire offspring and cannot without other effects altering them.

A female Elf can choose to be fertile or infertile as an action and lays an egg a month after being fertilized. Female Elves feel sexual gratification from becoming fertilized, but will not allow themselves to become fertile unless they favor the sire.

An elf egg can survive at moderate temperatures and will hatch five months after being lain.

Once they have a total of 42 FP, their true form becomes something incapable of existing within known reality, functionally resulting in them having no true form.

They become capable of any form of reproduction, including siring and bearing offspring, as well as more exotic forms such as parthenogenesis, pollination or spores.

Timeless (0 FP): Elves do not age no matter how much time passes.

Optional Features

Archfey (20 FP): At the pinnacle of their power, some Elves manage to bind themselves to a territory within the Dreamwilds. An hour after being slain, they can reform within their territory. This also applies when they are slain in their territory itself. Having a territory allows them to move between there territory and the last place they were on the Mortal Realm as twelve actions.

For 1 additional FP, they can make Chosen Ones to enforce their will as a God would. They can create a new Chosen One by using Magic to create an entirely new creature, which has the Fey Sycophant Feature and Champion Features of their choice. The DC to create the new Chosen One should be determined by the Game Master and incorporate the total FP the Chosen One is being created with.

Alternatively, a preexisting creature that pledges its will to them can be made into a Chosen One without the need for a Casting Check. They gain all knowledge known by such a creature, and an insight into its identity, at the time of its pledge.

If they choose, the creature becomes a Chosen One and gains the Fey Sycophant Feature and Champion Features of their choice. However, the creature must have sufficient FP.

Elven Vitality (8 FP): Most Elves develop an innate vitality that keeps them from any lasting harm, almost all Elves developing it before reaching full maturity.

They can choose to spend three actions to regenerate their flesh. This returns one Hit Point. Once they have returned to their maximum Hit Points, their physical body will return to a flawless state, re-growing lost limbs and undoing all injuries without scars.

In addition, they lose the ability to feel physical pain, as a result of their injuries no longer having meaningful consequence.

Arcane Glamour (0 FP): The Elf has learned formal magic, replacing #feybullshit with the ability to form their glamours with controlled spellcasting. The results of Casting Checks to create dream mana or shape it into glamours are increased by 6.

Any creature interacting with a glamour, including looking at it, may make a Bullshit Check (1d12 + Smart Ass). If the Bullshit Check equals or exceeds the amount the Casting Check exceeded its DC, that creature functions as if the glamour doesn’t exist. This Feature negates #feybullshit.

For 1 additional FP, the results of Casting Checks to create dream mana or shape it into glamours are increased by 1 more.

Note: This Feature is for Elves with a Magic Feature to consolidate #feybullshit and their magic. Functionally, they replace #feybullshit with this Feature, which also has a cost of 6 FP.

Half Elf (-2 FP): Some Elves have a non-elven parent, resulting in weaker elven traits, although this is often compensated for by Features from their non-elven parent. They do not gain the effects of the Eldritch Justice and Elven Maturation Features.

Instead, they mature in the manner of their non-elven parent’s species, but at half the speed. The Elf is treated as if it was not an Elf for the purpose of producing offspring, their offspring not gaining the Elf clan if the other parent is not an Elf and gaining the Elf clan with this Feature if the other parent is an Elf.

Some Elves with non-elven parents manage to awaken their full elven heritage, becoming a true Elf by buying back this Weakness. If they buy back this Weakness, they become effected by the effects of the Elven Maturation Feature regardless of their age, gaining the true form that correlates to their total FP.
